How to measure yourself for a ready-to-wear saree blouse
Ready-to-wear blouses in India are sized by bust measurement in inches. You need one number, a soft measuring tape and two minutes.
What you need
- A soft measuring tape.
- A mirror, or someone to check that the tape is level.
Step 1: Measure your bust
- Stand straight and breathe normally.
- Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level all the way around your body.
- Keep it snug but not tight. You should be able to slide one finger under it.
- Our blouses are padded, so measure without a padded bra for the most accurate measurement.
Step 2: Read your size
A size 36 blouse is made for a 36-inch bust.
- Bust 32–33 inches (81–84 cm): size 32
- Bust 34–35 inches (86–89 cm): size 34
- Bust 36–37 inches (91–94 cm): size 36
- Bust 38–39 inches (97–99 cm): size 38
- Bust 40–41 inches (102–104 cm): size 40
- Bust 42–43 inches (107–109 cm): size 42
This is the general Indian ready-to-wear sizing convention. Most colours are a single piece (Jacquard-Weave Paithani Style has 2 pieces), so the size available differs from piece to piece. We confirm the exact measurement of the piece you like before you pay.
If you are between two sizes
Choose the larger size. A tailor can usually take a blouse in, but can rarely let it out.
Tie-back and front-opening designs
- Tie-back: most of our blouses tie at the neck or back, allowing you to adjust the fit. Your bust measurement still determines the best fit.
- Front-opening: Noor and Royal Paithani Style fasten at the front, so please provide an accurate bust measurement.
Step 3: Confirm the fit on WhatsApp
- Send us your bust measurement.
- Tell us the blouse and colour you like.
- We check the measurements of that exact piece and confirm the recommended fit before payment.
